ABOUT JASON

Jason Smith joined ESPN Radio full-time as host of AllNight with Jason Smith (then M-F 1-6 a.m. ET, now 2-6 a.m.) in September 2005. Previously, Smith had served as a fill-in co-host on weekend GameDay shows, and as a solo guest host for various ESPN Radio shows since December 2003.

Prior to joining ESPN Radio in 2005, Smith worked for ESPN Radio affiliate 710 ESPN Radio (KSPN-AM) in Los Angeles, hosting in afternoon time-slots and pre- and post-game shows for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins.

Smith's return to ESPN Radio marked a return to ESPN's Bristol, Conn. headquarters where he began his post-graduate career in TV production working on SportsCenter from 1993-1996, winning an Emmy Award for his role in the show.

After moving to the West Coast in the fall of 1996, Smith was a TV sports producer in Los Angeles until 2000, both with Fox Sports Net and KABC-TV. His radio career began accidentally while at ABC where he met Ellen K, ('Rick Dees In the Morning'/'On-Air with Ryan Seacrest') who thought he would make a good sports talk radio host. She introduced him to people at XTRA Sports 1150-AM in L.A., and he began his on-air career there in 2000. Smith moved from local personality in Los Angeles to the national scene as host at Fox Sports Radio for four years, first in late night and then afternoon drive until January 2003.

Jason was raised on Staten Island in New York, and is a graduate of Syracuse University.
